Organic dyestuffs (I) contain at least one group X = -NR- or -SO2NR-; R = H, CN, opt. substd. alkyl or aryl; R1 = H, halogen, CN or alkyl; R2, R3 and R4 = H, halogen or alkyl; and R5 = H, halogen, CN, or a hydrocarbyl group. - (I) are useful for dyeing synthetic fibres or polymer films. They can be polymerised on the substrate e.g. by treatment with a free radical initiator or by irradiation with an electron beam, U.V. light, X-rays or gamma-rays. The dyed fibres and films have excellent fastness.
