1283400 Sliding clasp fasteners DR KARL F NAGELE FEINMASCHINENBAU 25 Sept 1969 [25 Sept 1968] 47358/69 Heading E2S A sliding clasp fastener stringer consists of a carrier tape 4 and a length of filamentary material formed into a series of loops and bent about a longitudinal axis into a U-shape to form pairs of upper leg parts 1 and lower leg parts 2, each pair being joined by a bight 3, 3', the upper leg parts being shorter than the lower which latter are sewn to the tape 4, the bend forming the U-shape being deformed into fastening elements 5 and the upper leg parts being bent down towards the tape so that their bights 3 touch or almost touch the tape between the bights 3' of coadjacent longer leg parts, and wherein the stitches attaching the stringer to the tape 4 do not pass over those portions of said upper leg parts that are not contiguously adjacent the tape. |
