<p>The prodn. of spherical particles involves hearing a cylindrical ingot under vacuum to its melting point so that the outer surface metal of the ingot becomes molten, rotating the ingot about its axis and recovering the spherical particles obtd. from solidification of the liquid drops ejected from the surface under the action of the centrifugal force. The impact point of the source used to heat the ingot surface during rotation of the ingot so that the impact point describes a plurality of curves distributed regularly around the ingot axis from its the periphery of the surface to the centre. The process enables homogeneous, uniform sized, small diameter particles to be obtd. which particles are truly spherical in shape.</p> |
