<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive pole having the positive pole active material layer of a higher density, and a lithium secondary battery having the positive pole, without declining battery performance such as discharge capacity, rate characteristics or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In the positive pole for the lithium secondary battery, the positive pole active material layer including a lithium transition metal compound oxide expressed by the following general formula (1): Li<SB>x</SB>Ni<SB>α</SB>Mn<SB>β</SB>Co<SB>γ</SB>Q<SB>δ</SB>Bi<SB>v</SB>B<SB>w</SB>O<SB>2</SB>, and a binding agent are provided on a current collector, and a density of the positive pole active material layer is 2.75g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more. In the formula, Q represents at least one kind of element selected from Al, Fe, Ga, Sn, V, Cr, Cu, Zn, Mg, Ti, Ge, Nb, Ta, Zr and Ca. In addition, α, β, γ, δ, x, v and w indicate figures that satisfy relations of 0.2≤α≤0.6, 0.2≤β≤0.6, 0≤γ≤0.5, 0≤δ≤0.1, α+β+γ+δ=1, 0<x≤1.2, 0≤v≤0.1 and 0≤w≤0.1 (but, at least one of v and w is not zero). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
