PURPOSE:To improve the reproducibility of a shape to a mold when a preform is blow molded, by injection molding a composition including a polyester resin having specified inherent viscosities and a specified methacrylic resin under specified conditions to obtain the preform with a bottom. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition is prepared from a polyester resin containing, as chief repeating units, ethylene terephthalates and having an inherent viscosity ranging from 0.75 to 1.40 and a methacrylic resin which is prepared by copolymerizing methacrylic acid methyl with one or more acrylic acid esters having the formula I (wherein R is an alkyl group having 1-8 carbons) in an amount of 5- 40wt%. The resin composition is injection molded under conditions wherein the linear velocity in the mold is above 10mm./sec and the mold temperature is below 55 deg.C, so that a preform with a bottom is obtained. Then the preform with a bottom is blow molded to obtain a hollow container. |
