PURPOSE:To realize an increase of slave subsystems without giving any disturbance to an on-line process, by cutting off a processor in a stand-by state from a system and then carrying out an IPL of the increased subsystem, various types of tests and others in a decentralized process system. CONSTITUTION:Processors 4, 5 and 6 of a main subsystem 1 plus slave subsystems 2-0 and 2-1 are in the on-line process execution state via circular buses #0, 1 and 2; while processors 8, 9 and 10 are in the stand-by state respectively. The processors 8, 9 and 10 are cut off from the stand-by state when the slave subsystem 3 is increased, and a circular bus, e.g., 2 is cut off. Then the processors 8, 9 and 10 plus the processors 7 and 11 of the increased subsystem 3 are connected via the bus #2, and the control information is taken into the processor 8. While a communicating control table to the subsystem 3 is stored to the processors 9 and 10, and a test for increase is carried out for an increase of a system after giving a remote IPL to the subsystem 3. Accordingly no disturbance is given to the on-line process among the processors 4, 5 and 6 when a system is increased. |
