The marine-propeller jet tube for all types of marine propulsion units is a tubular channel or tunnel for accommodating the propeller. In this way, the power loss which results from the flow resistance is considerably reduced, the ratio of the useful power to the propulsion power is favourably changed and the efficiency is substantially improved. The advantages of the jet tube are a considerable saving in energy at the same power output, improved stability of the ship and a reduction in the cavitation erosion on the propeller.
