A photograph typesetting machine consists of a character tablet(11); a position-setting device(32), (I) which dets. the character position according to the calligraphic style; a coordinate detector(30); (II) a character memory(33), which compares the signal from II and I with the stored character information; a mask-moving control circuit(35), which operates with the signal of I; and a decorder(34) for the character information, which gives the operating signal to the operating control circuit(39) for the motors(26, 29).
