PURPOSE:To prevent elastic deformation, by providing inner pawls, which can be moved in an diametric direction, and outer pawls, opposed to said inner pawls, in a chuck main unit, mounted to the end face of a rotary head and rotated, and clamping a cylindrical cut material of small thickness from its inside and outside. CONSTITUTION:Four clamping parts 2 are mounted to a disc-shaped chuck main unit 1 spacing a fixed distance in the peripheral direction. Each clamping part 2 provides an inner pawl 8 and an outer pawl 16 respectively. A cylindrical cut material is gently tightened by the four outer pawls 16, and the cut material places its axial center to agree with the rotary center. Next the inner pawls 8 are moved to a peripheral side, and the cut material is pressed by the inner pawls 8 and the outer pawls 16 and clamped from the both sides. In this way, the cut material can be clamped with no elastic deformation by each inner pawl 8 cooperatively acting with each outer pawl 16.
