PURPOSE:To enable machining and measurement to be performed through high accurate bore reference, by applying a fluid pressure to the internal hollow part of a pipe-shaped axial structure, inserted into an internal diametric hole of a bore reference body, and expanding the axial structure so as to chuck the bore reference body. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical bore reference body A inserts to its internal diametric hole an axial structure 15 of a chuck device 11 to be fitted. Pressurized fluid is allowed to flow into an air gap part 16 of a chuck part 12 by turning an adjusting screw member 25 to slide a piston 20. The bore reference body A is fixed to the axial structure 15 by expanding its outside diameter. Under this condition, cutting or measurement of the peripheral surface of said body A is performed by rotating a rotary bed 27 while the bore reference body A integrally with said bed 27. Accordingly, high accurate machining or measurement is performed by preventing the setting from generating unevenness by a worker.
