PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stability and a long life by suppressing elution of a metal component alloyed with platinum, and by enhancing resistance aginst impurity gases and activity of a catalyst. SOLUTION: When a mixture of SiC, PTFE and 85% phosphoric acid is applied on a fuel electrode as a matrix layer, PdCl2 of a metal salt is added into the 85% phosphoric acid, that is an electrolyte, so as to obtain 10<-5> M/l of concentration, to form a layer. For this, a metal ion concentration in the electrolyte is increased, a metal component alloyed with platinum hardly elutes from a platinum alloy catalyst, and a characteristic (b) of the battery of the present invention is satisfactory result as compared with a characteristic (c) of a conventional type battery. |
