PURPOSE:To produce a high strength steel sheet plated with zinc by vapor deposition and having superior plating adhesion, by annealing a high strength steel strip contg. Si by heating in a reducing atmosphere, regulating the temp. of the strip to a range defined by a specified control formula according to the Si content, and continuously plating the strip with zinc by vapor deposition. CONSTITUTION:A high strength steel strip contg. Si is annealed by heating in a reducing atmosphere after rolling and it is continuously plated with zinc by vapor deposition. A strip consisting of, by weight, <=0.08% C, 0.2-0.8% Si, 0.15-0.85% Mn and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is suitable for use as the high strength steel strip. The temp. T0 of the strip immediately before the plating is regulated to a range defined by a formula 350>=T0>=250Si+150.
