PURPOSE:To suppress the variance in line width of characters by referring to the extent of line width correction stored in a correction extent storage means to correct vector data in accordance with the character size with respect to line width. CONSTITUTION:Based on the character and the character size inputted from an input means 2, a data read-out means 3 reads out a corresponding character font vector, the number of loops forming the vector, patterns of individual loops, the number of vectors of each loop, etc., from a vector data storage means 1 like a ROM. Vector data is hit off by a line width correcting means in accordance with the extent of line width correction from a line width correction extend storage means 4 and the line width is corrected in accordance with the character size. By this correction, bit omission or the like is prevented in vector data converted to bit data by a vector-bit converting means 6 even in case of a small character size, and the variance in line width of characters is suppressed. |
