PURPOSE:To manufacture a head made of plastics, cracks are not generated in a first substrate and a second substrate thereof and which can be manufactured stably, by using a metallic plate having the quality of a material, the difference of a thermal expansion coefficient thereof with the substrates is reduced as much as possible. CONSTITUTION:A flow path groove, such as a pressure chamber, a nozzle, etc. is formed to a first substrate 1 consisting of polysulfone, and a second substrate 2 having the same quality of a material as the first substrate 1 is welded, thus shaping an ink flow path. Vibrating sections having shapes corresponding to each pressure chamber are formed to the surface of a metallic plate 3 composed of brass in 0.1mm thickness for positioning a piezoelectric element through half-etching, and bonded with the second substrate 2 by epoxy group adhesives 4. When the substrate is approximately one aquare inch in size and is 3mm thick, the quantity of deflection due to heat shrinkage is inhibited to 0.1mm or less even when a temperature difference of 100 deg.C is given when the difference of the thermal expansion coefficients of the metallic plate 3 and the substrate extends over 4X10<-5>/ deg. or less, thus generating no crack. Polysulfone is used as a material for the first substrate and the second substrate and the thermal expansion coefficient thereof is 5.5X10<-5>/ deg., and the thermal expansion coefficient of a material for the metallic plate extends over 1.5X10<-5>/ deg. or more. |
