PURPOSE:To give a product an appearance, strength, and feeling of natural leather by using a thermoplastic polyester resin as raw material and by expanding it uniformly and finely controlling the diameter and wall thickness of independent cells below specified limits, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A sheet is prepared by expanding a thermoplastic polyester resin to form uniform and fine independent cells 1-3. The independent cells 1-3 are controlled to have substancially a diameter of 1mm or less, while the continuous cell ratio is kept between 30 an 80%. The wall thickness of the cells 11-13 is controlled substantially to be 100 microns or less. The cell walls 11-13 composing the cells 1-3 are extended depicting irregular curves so that the flexibility of a sheet measured by the Gurley test method is regulated to be 2000mg or less. In this way, by selecting the raw material and controlling the respective properties within specified limits, the strength and feeling of natural leather is given to the product. |
