PURPOSE:To liquefy coal while economically using a high-activity catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Coal is liquefied with a hydrogen-contg. gas by using a catalyst comprising cobalt, nickel, molybdenum, or a compd. of one of these metals. The catalyst is separated from the residue of the liquefaction, recovered, and reused as it is as the liquefaction catalyst. Thus, the amt. used of the catalyst and its preparation cost are lowered, improving the economy of the coal liquefaction process. |
