摘要 FIELD: thermonuclear studies. SUBSTANCE: device has set of chambers in the form of ellipsoids of revolution with mirror-like inner surface. Focuses of ellipsoids are on same axis and second focus of preceding ellipsoid chamber is aligned with first focus of last common ellipsoid chamber. Chambers accommodate light source, thermonuclear target, and optical elements arranged along same axis. Set has even number of chambers starting from four. Target is placed in common focus of two central chambers of set. The latter is provided with additional light sources. Optical elements are, essentially, converging lenses having focal distance F = a, where a is focal distance of ellipsoid. Light sources and lenses are alternating in direction of target. Periodic repetition of set is possible. EFFECT: improved utilization of light beam due to symmetric squeezing of target and elimination of discrepancy in convergence of starting beams. 2 cl, 1 dwg
