In the case of a known, undivided air vent (air nozzle) which is arranged laterally on the dashboard a vent position can be set by remote control in order to demist a side window, the same vent-outlet region being used as for individual air-conditioning which is a further function of the vent. The novel air vent is divided into a first vent part (3) and a second vent part (2) to which respective air-quantity-controlling flaps (6, 7) are assigned. The second flap (6) can be moved into its open position by remote-controllable means (8, 16, 21) and the first flap (7) can be adjusted manually (17, 18, 19). Provided between the said two flaps (6, 7) are coupling means (11) by means of which the second flap (6) can be closed by the opening movement of the first flap (7) and the first flap (7) can be closed by the opening movement of the second flap (6). This makes it possible to set a defrosting function by remote control using a vent part (2) which is specifically intended for this. The air vent can be used, for example, for ventilating the interior of a vehicle. <IMAGE>
