PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility of ceramic powder, to densify the structure of a green sheet and to reduce the thickness of a film by using a binder compsn. obtd. by blending one or more kinds of binders selected from among polyvinyl acetate, partially saponified polyvinyl acetate and polyvinyl acetal with an org. solvent having a specified chemical structure. CONSTITUTION:Polyvinyl butyral is, e.g. used as a binder. A compd. represented by the formula (where each of R<1> and R<2> is H or 1-4C aliphatic hydrocarbon, R<3> is methyl or ethyl and (n) is an integer of 1-6), e.g. 3-methyl-3-methoxy-1- butanol is used as an org. solvent. The binder is blended with the org. solvent in a weight ratio of 2:98 to 30:70 to obtain the objective binder compsn. When a green sheet for forming ceramic is produced, 30-200 pts.wt. ceramic powder (e.g. alumina) is blended with 100 pts.wt. of the binder compsn., a sintering aid is added and they are mixed and molded into a sheet. |
