PURPOSE:To enable optical immunoassay by engaging a casing with a slab type waveguide having a prism for admission or emission of light at both ends thereof to integrate a pre-treatment tank using the slab type light waveguide and a dilution tank and a mixing tank. CONSTITUTION:First, a liquid to be inspected containing an antigen 31 using one pre-treatment tank 21 and a reagent containing a fluorescent reference antibody 32 is diluted using the other pre-treatment tank 21. Then, the liquid to be inspected diluted is injected into a reaction tank 23, the antigen 31 is accepted by the antibody 3 fixed on a light waveguide body 11 and the liquid to be inspected in the reaction tank 23 is discharged. Then, excitation light emitted from an excitation light source is introduced to a prism 12 through a dichroic mirror 4 while the reagent diluted with the other pre-treatment tank 21 is injected into the reaction tank 23. Then, the excitation light is refracted with the prism 12 to be introduced into the body 11 and is propagated being reflected totally to excite a reference fluorescent body 32a alone of the antibody 32 so that an intrinsic fluorescence is radiated. A part of the fluorescence is propagated through the body 11 to be emitted from the prism 12 and enters a detector 5, thereby enabling immunoassay. |
