A method is claimed for working up a reaction mixt. (I) in the form of a micro-emulsion (ME) which is obtd. by reacting a partner (1) in the form of an aq. soln. with a partner (2) in the form of a water-immiscible organic liq. phase in the presence of anionic or non-ionic surfactant, and which contains, in addn. to the surfactant, a first reaction prod. (A) which is soluble in water and a second prod. (B) which is soluble in the organic phase, with the ME able to coexist with the aq. and organic phases. The method comprises (a) lowering or raising the temp. of the ME by 20-50 K to form a phase with a high surfactant content (a1) and a surfactant-free phase (a2), (b) separating a reaction prod.-contg. phase (a2) and replacing a sepd. aq. phase by the aq. phase of partner 1 or a sepd. organic phase by the organic phase of partner 2, (c) changing the temp. of the reaction mixt. obtd. from step (b) by 10-80 K in the opposite direction to the first temp. change (step a) to produce another phase with a high surfactant content and another surfactant-free phase, (d) separating and replacing the surfactant-free and reaction prod.-contg. phase as in (b), and (e) repeating the original reaction with the mixt. obtd. |
