NITRILE DERIVATIVES OF 19-NOR-STEROIDS FOR USE IN RADIOTHERAPY AND/OR IMAGING OF CANCER

The present invention relates to new specific ligands for estrogen or progesterone steroid hormone receptors which have the formula: (see formula I) (see formula II) In which: 1. X = denotes either a hydroxyl group, in which case the ring to which it is attached is an aromatic ring, or a ketone functional group, in which case it is conjugated with a double bond at C4-C5. 2. R = denotes an atom substituted by a radioactive or non radioactive halogen. 3. The stereochemistry of the halogen could be either in E or Z configuration. 4. Y = denotes either a Hydrogen or Fluorine. The labeled ligands according to the invention are of very particular interest in the targeted therapy and/or imaging of cancer. These ligands can also be employed in the quantitive determination of hormone receptors.
