The machine for the insertion of hair into a carrier, for the prodn. of hairpieces and the like, has a positive former fitted to the carrier arm (39) through a cardanic suspension (51). The centre point of the rotary axis coincides with the centre point of the circle formed through the hairpiece. The positive former, of a hard plastics material, is covered by a film of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
