PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus capable of printing an image of high quality in low cost without generating the clogging or fixing of ink. SOLUTION: A recording head 1 has an ink chamber having an opening part above a gravitational direction and housing ink wherein a colorant is dispersed in a solvent and the emitting electrode 2 formed within the ink chamber and the emitting electrode 2 is a conductive member and has a pointed leading end part and a columnar part and also has at least one slit stretched over both of the columnar part and the pointed leading end part and at least a part of the pointed leading end part protrudes from the opening part of the ink chamber and ink is emitted upwardly in a gravitational direction.
