The pressure test is carried out using a hollow body (6) with an axial passage drilling pushed through the test bore (4). The body projects with its end section facing away from the gearbox housing wall (2) sealing the test duct (3). For the pressure testing the passage drilling outer side is connected with the pressure testing unit (14) across the pressure connection (11). After the ending of the pressure testing, the hollow body (6) is replaced by a sealing element (60, fig.4). The sealing element seals the test duct (3) to the inside of the gearbox housing and the test bore (4) in the housing to the outside.
