<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce the voices received from a CD-ROM and also to prevent the erasion of the reproduced voices with the cover of a portable computer kept closed. SOLUTION: A base housing 12 of a portable computer 10 has a slip-shaped part 16a which is not covered even when a cover housing 14 is closed. Plural buttons 68a to 68d which are used for the control of the voice reproduction are prepared at the part 16a together with the speaker grills 64. When a CD- ROM is put into a CD-ROM drive and the buttons 68a to 68d are turned on with the housing 14 of the computer 10 kept closed, the music, etc., can be reproduced from the CD-ROM. Therefore, it is not required to show a voice reproduction program on a display nor to perform an operation for reproduction. As the grills 64 are exposed, the voices generated from a speaker placed under the grills 64 are never erased. Thus, the music can be reproduced with the button operations even in an execution mode of a normal task.</p> |
