PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record the data on a record medium with an optimum recording power value. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a recording power value control means 4 setting a power value of a light beam 3 when the data are recorded on the record medium 1 by an optical head 2 to an optional value, a recording quality check means 5 checking whether or not the data recorded on the record medium 1 are recorded precisely, a retry judgement means 6 judging whether the recording power value is increased by the recording power value control means 4 and retry of recording operation (write retry) is performed, or alternate processing is performed when recording quality is abnormal is judged by time recording quality check means 5 and a recording power initial value selection means 7 selecting an initial value of recording power used at a recording operation time. Then, by performing the retry operation of the recording operation, the recording operation is performed while retrieving the optimum recording power value on the record medium 1. |
