PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for effectively utilizing two or more kinds of dots having different ink concentrations and diameters for various purposes including the prevention of banding in terms of a printer. SOLUTION: This printer comprises a head which is equipped with inks having two kinds of concentrations in at least one color and is capable of forming dots having different diameters. While a density in a unit area can be varied by the combination of a small dot with the high concentration and a large dot with the low concentration, brightnesses of the small dot and large dot are set to be roughly equal with each other in an intermediate tone. When an image is printed, the small dot with the high concentration and large dot with the low concentration are mixed to be recorded in the intermediate tone, thereby eliminating the banding. Both of the dots can be generated along a predetermined pattern or at random. This pattern is set in consideration of so-called ink duty limitation of a recording paper.
