The invention concerns a system wherein the television system replaces a target region in successive video images by an insertible matched model in said target region. Said system has a television camera (10a, 10b, 10c) for producing a video image sequence of a scene and means for processing broadcast images. Said means selectively add graphic layers and special effects to the video images to produce the feed to be broadcast. Means for virtual insertion (22), remotely located from the means processing the broadcast images, receive the feed to be broadcast and modify it by replacing a target region of video images by the insertible substitute model.
