PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nucleic acids having a new base capable of reversibly binding the nucleic acids to each other by light irradiation, the nucleic acids immobilizing a nucleic acid, a method for readily producing a branched nucleic acid and a capped nucleic acid by using the nucleic acids, and to provide a method for immobilizing the nucleic acids on a solid carrier by light and a purifying, collecting isolating, detecting and determinating by the nucleic acids by using the method. SOLUTION: This method for readily, efficiently and reversibly binding the nucleic acids comprises utilizing the photoreactivity of a pyrimidine base having a substituted vinyl group at the 5-position of the pyrimidine. The nucleic acids therefor, and the method for inactivating a DNA by using the same are also provided. Further, the nucleic acids having the pyrimidine base having the substituted vinyl group at the 5-position of the pyrimidine, immobilized on the solid carrier, the method for immobilizing the nucleic acids having a specific base sequence by using the nucleic acids, the purification and recovery method, and the identification, detection and determination method are provided.
