PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embossing roll by which an interlayer in which during storing an interlayer for a safety glass, blocking of the interlayers is prevented from being generated and handling workability while glass sheets and the interlayer are laminated is good and deaerating properties is good during laminating them can be manufactured and a method for manufacturing it and the interlayer for the safety glass obtained by using this. SOLUTION: The embossing roll of the present invention is characterized by forming an emboss consisting of projected stripes and recessed channels on the surface of a metal roll by means of an engraving mill method or an etching method, forming fine unevenness on the embossed face by means of a blast treatment and half abrading the top parts of the fine projected parts formed on the projected stripes forming the emboss.
