PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber reinforced plastic having little strength degradation in 90 deg. tensile strength under each of moistened high-temperature and dried room-temperature conditions. SOLUTION: The carbon fiber for fiber reinforced plastics has 0.001-0.030 surface specific silicon concentration Si/C measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and the fiber reinforced plastic is obtained by curing a resin composition comprising the carbon fiber for fiber reinforced plastics, a curing agent and an epoxy resin and has 0.5-0.8 strength ratio of 90 deg. tensile strength under a moistened high-temperature condition to 90 deg. tensile strength under a dried room-temperature condition.
