PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable that suppresses movement of stored coated optical fibers as well as increase in the transmission loss and that facilitates taking out of all coated optical fibers by a rip notch, and also to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber cable, coated optical fibers 21a with three or more cores are bundled in one or more levels without being stranded and are directly covered tightly with a coating resin body 22. Assuming that R is an allowable bend radius of the optical fiber cable 20 and that D is the distance between the optical fiber of the upper/lower end levels in the coated optical fiber bundle 21 and the neutral line X of the cable bend, a condition D/R≤0.0125 is satisfied. In addition, in the exterior axial direction of the coating resin body 22, there is formed a rip notch 27 with the coated optical fiber bundle 21 held in-between.
