PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision of failure detection while curbing increase in costs. SOLUTION: Signal output characteristics of a yow-rate sensor is measured in advance and its measurement data is stored in a database 14. A detector 1 has two yow-rate sensors 3 and 4 having similar signal output characteristics which are selected in a production process according to the data stored in the database 14. In this case, the yow-rate sensors 3 and 4 are combined so as to lessen differences in output signals and differential signals within a certain yaw-rate range because difference in output signals within a certain temperature range becomes small.
