PURPOSE:To prevent too much space from being provided between characters by automatically half-sizing one of the characters in succession when closed brackets, punctuation marks, middle points, hyphens are continued in full size mode, when punctuation marks, middle points, hyphens and opened brackets are continued, and when brackets are continued. CONSTITUTION:A section 6 discriminating the presence or absence of half size characters discriminates whether, for example, characters corresponding to character list (1st group) stored in a latter half idle character storage section 3 and characters corresponding to a character list (2nd group) stored in a first half blank character storage section 4 are present in succession in any combination of character strings in an editing character string temporary storage section 2. A specified character half-sizing section 7 half-sizes the latter character when continued in the combination of two 2nd groups, one character when continued in the 2nd combination followed by the 1st group and remains as it is when it is continued in the combination of the 1st group followed by the 2nd group. |
