PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid injection device capable of surely absorbing the liquid at the nozzle surface without contacting the nozzle surface of the liquid injection head, and a liquid suction apparatus for a liquid ejection head. SOLUTION: The liquid suction device 20 for the liquid injection head absorbing the liquid injected from the nozzle surface of the liquid injection head 30 is equipped with a body 21, an absorption material 22 arranged in the body and absorbing the liquid from nozzle orifices 55A-55D and a clearance forming member 300 for forming a clearance S between the surface 23 of the absorption material facing the nozzle surface and the nozzle surface.
