PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line inkjet printer which can realize high-precision printing image quality by detecting poor ejection from a nozzle with a high degree of accuracy. SOLUTION: This inkjet printer is equipped with: a CPU 110 which makes a test pattern for each nozzle recorded on a recording medium P, while carrying the recording medium P in a sub-scanning direction X; and a plurality of sensor parts 61a which are provided in such a manner as to be movable in a main scanning direction Z by a distance corresponding to a printing range in the main scanning direction Z of head modules 31a, 32a, 33a and 34a, while corresponding to the respective head modules 31a, 32a, 33a and 34a, and which detect the poor ejection from the nozzle by moving in the main scanning direction Z so as to optically read each of the test patterns on the recording medium P, in the movement of the recording medium P in the sub-scanning direction X.
