PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner which can be fixed at a low temperature, which has excellent storage property, and which gives a high-quality image with superior resolution and no irregular gloss, and to provide toner free from sticking of toners even when images immediately after fixed are subjected to bookbinding, saddle stitch bookbinding or binding in a Z-folded state, and which results in excellent paper edge alignment performance. SOLUTION: The toner contains toner particles each having an inner layer and an outer layer at the rim of the inner layer and satisfies the following conditions (a) (b) and (c). They are: (a) the cross sectional ratio of the outer layer to the inner layer is 0.05 to 0.46; (b) the outer layer has irregularity in thickness, and the five-point average thickness (t<SB>1</SB>+t<SB>2</SB>+t<SB>3</SB>+t<SB>4</SB>+t<SB>5</SB>)/5 ranges 0.2 to 1.0μm, wherein t<SB>1</SB>is the thickness of the thickest portion and t<SB>2</SB>, t<SB>3</SB>, t<SB>4</SB>and t<SB>5</SB>are thickness in the second to fifth thickest portions, respectively, in one particle; and (c) the glass transition point Tg of the inner layer is lower by 2 to 45°C than Tg of the outer layer.
