PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent excessive temperature rises of a filter and a plasma display panel while reducing the weight, and lengthen the filter life and stabilize the display. SOLUTION: The function sheet in close contact with the front of a plasma display panel has a selected structure superior in heat radiation rather than in heat insulation between the panel and the open air. Further, a controller is built in the display device to control the drive voltage pulse train so that the power consumption per unit area of the light emitting area in the display is limited to the set value or less when displaying an image.
