The invention relates to a food container, in particular for serving, storing and transporting food, substantially comprising two parts consisting of a lid part (20) and bottom part (30), and a sealing component (70) for sealing at least one of said parts, wherein a position compensation device (100, 110) is arranged between the sealing component (70) and a lid part (50), the compensation device (100, 110), in a position of use, is displaceable substantially in a vertical direction in such a way that it makes it possible to adjust the position and/or application pressure of said sealing element (70) with respect to the bottom part (30) in order to compensate for and prevent leakage, the compensation device (100, 110), when the two parts of the container are closed in the position of use, is displaceable substantially in a horizontal direction between the sealing element (70) and the lid part (50) oppositely to the compensation device (100, 110) tension in order to close the lid part (50) with the bottom part (30) by means of a locking device (55) after displacing the compensation device (100, 110) in a horizontal direction. The inventive container compensation device, a rinsing insert therefor and a method for locking the container are also disclosed. |
