The climbing aid comprises a longitudinally variable frame (1) consisting of two frame modules (2,3) of solid robust material as well as a light material (6) inserted horizontally between the two frame modules to form the bearing surface. The frame modules can have different widths to fit in one another. The underneath of the frame is uneven to grip on slippery ground. The frame is fitted with a plate (12) for bindings.
