PURPOSE:To provide a air conditioner which reduces temp. difference between the top and the bottom of a room and is made as thin and compact form by installing suck-in holes for room air made at the lower end of the box type casing, blow-out holes at the place near the upper end of the casing, multiblade centrifugal fans between said two holes in the casing and a heat exchanger between the fans an he blow off holes. CONSTITUTION:Suck-in holes 2A, 2B are formed respectively at the lower part of a front panel and a top panel of a box type casing 1 which is able to be set on the floor and blow-off holes 3 are made at the place near the upper part of the front panel. The multiblade centrifugal fans 4A, 4B are same in the diameter size but the width in the axial direction of the lower fan 4B is larger than that of the upper fan 4A. Room air which is sucked in and blown out centrifugally by two fans 4A, 4B is heat exchanged by a fin-plate type heat exchanger 6 installed at an updraft air path 5 and blown out into the room. At heating time, the suck-in holes installed at the lower place are opened and at cooling time, the suck-in holes installed at the top place are opened.
