<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device, a fixing device, and a fixing device control method capable of preventing a rapid decrease in the temperature of a heating roller, when printing is requested, and thus preventing faulty fixing by forcibly lighting a heater lamp inside the heating roller, when the temperature of the heating roller decreases after the heating roller has been heated from the state of the room temperature and causes overshoot that exceeds the fixing temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The heating roller is heated from the state of the room temperature, causes an overshoot after the surface temperature of the heating roller 26 has reached the fixing temperature, and the temperature increases to a level higher than the fixing temperature, when a heater lamp 28 is forcibly turned ON/OFF.
