OPTICAL DISK DEVICE AND POSITIONING METHOD OF PICKUP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control positioning of a pickup head without providing a switch detecting the position of the pickup head. SOLUTION: An optical disk device is provided with: a pickup head 11 detecting a signal corresponding to data recorded in an optical disk 10; a stepping motor 28 rotating a rotor by exciting a stator and moving the pickup head 11 in the radial direction of the disk; a stopper 29 regulating a movement range by abutting the pickup head 11 moved by the stepping motor 28; and a controller 24 controlling drive of the stepping motor 28 by outputting the electrical angle of the stator corresponding to the rotary angle of the rotor when the pickup head 11 abuts on the stopper 29 when the pickup head 11 is abutted on the stopper 29 and set to an initial position.
