摘要 A gyro-coupling torque converter comprises a bevel gear 222 mounted on a secondary shaft 221a and meshing with another bevel gear 322 that is mounted on a free axle 323 which rotates in bearing in a primary frame 320. The secondary shaft 221a carries a secondary frame 220 having a rotor 101 supported therein. Shaft 221a rotates in bearings 321a and is connected to the primary frame by torsion springs 103a. An excitation system may be mounted on the primary frame 320 applies a periodic torque on the spring/rotor system that is a function of an angular velocity of the secondary frame 220 and an angular position (phase) of a vibration axis around a secondary axis which enable the torque converter to give a smooth gyro-coupling between the primary and secondary frames 220, 320. There may be more than one rotor and their angular position may be 2 f /3 radians apart and they may have the same torsional natural frequency.
