The present invention relates to a process for treating aqueous effluents comprising aromatic amino compounds. The invention is particularly directed towards the purification of aqueous flows comprising very small amounts of aromatic amino compounds associated with organic impurities resulting from the degradation thereof or coproduced during the hydrogenation of the corresponding nitroaromatic compound. The process of the invention which makes it possible to eliminate very small amounts of impurities present in the aqueous flow to be treated is characterized in that a distillation operation is carried out.
