Disclosed is a block copolymer having at least two blocks each represented by the formula (1): wherein Ar represents a bivalent conjugated group, provided that, when multiple numbers of Ar are present in one block, the Ar's represent the same bivalent group as each other in the block; and m represents a number average polymerization degree of Ar in one block and is a numerical number of 1 or greater. Among the m's that occur in multiple numbers in the copolymer, at least two of the m's independently represent a numerical number of 5 or greater. The Ar's in contiguous two blocks in the copolymer are different from each other. The copolymer has two types of Ar's when the copolymer is composed of two blocks each represented by the formula (1); has two or more types of Ar's when the copolymer is composed of three blocks each represented by the formula (1); and has four or more types of Ar's when the copolymer is composed of four blocks each represented by the formula (1). |
