<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a stable and high-speed frame synchronization. <P>SOLUTION: A correlator 62 calculates a correlation value showing a correlation between a known sequence being a symbol string of known values inserted into a digital modulated signal and a received sequence being a symbol string obtained by detecting the digital modulated signal, an IQ component selection circuit 63 selects an absolute value having a larger amplitude component in respective absolute values between an I component being a real part of the calculated correlation value and a Q part being an imaginary part, and a peak detector 64 detects a peak of the correlation sequence obtained from the selected absolute value of the I component or Q component and outputs a frame synchronization pulse in accordance with the result of the detection.
