Data can be transmitted between networks with different topologies (data network, communications network) connected to the network coupling unit (IGATE) through a network coupling unit (IGATE) configured as a subscriber interface module by means of the communications system (PBX). To this end, the network coupling unit (IGATE) has a unit (BW-R) for evaluating routing information obtained from the transmitted data, a unit (VM-R) for target-oriented data transmission depending on evaluation results and a unit (KV-R) for data format adaptation. |
