A signal processing apparatus, comprising: a low-pass-filter processing unit configured to perform processing for limiting a low-frequency audio band of an input audio signal below a reference frequency that lies between the low-frequency audio band and a high-frequency audio band, wherein the reference frequency is set dynamically in real time by the signal processing apparatus responsive to movement of a listener and is based on a position of the listener and corresponds to a frequency at which a characteristic fluctuation appears in frequency characteristics with respect to combined sound at positions of ears of the listener who listens to sound output from speakers and being set for the low-pass-filter processing unit; a high-pass-filter processing unit configured to perform processing for limiting the high-frequency audio band of the input audio signal above the reference frequency, wherein the reference frequency for the band-limited audio signal of the high-pass-filter processing unit is the same as the reference frequency for the band-limited audio signal of the low-pass-filter processing unit; a delay processing unit configured to perform processing for delaying the audio signal band-limited by the high-pass-filter processing unit for a selected time after the audio signal band-limited by the low-pass-filter processing unit; and a combination processing unit configured to combine the audio signal band-limited by the low-pass-filter processing unit and the audio signal subjected to the delay processing performed by the delay processing unit, wherein the signal processing apparatus is configured to detect and analyze positions of the listener in real time while the listener uses the signal processing apparatus.
